California Iran Contracting Act
California is the first US state to enact sanctions pursuant to the 2010 federal Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act (CISADA). It’s Iran Contracting Act (the “Act”) bars persons determined to be engaged in investment activities in Iran’s nuclear, petroleum, or natural gas industries from bidding on or renewing contracts with California state and local governments for goods and services worth $1 million or more.
